However, ingesting aloe vera comes with certain risks and side effects that should be carefully considered. Here are some potential side effects of ingesting aloe vera:


1.Digestive Issues  

Aloe vera latex, the yellowish substance just beneath the skin of the aloe leaf, contains compounds called anthraquinones, which can act as a strong laxative. While this might be helpful for occasional constipation, overconsumption can lead to severe cramping, diarrhea, and dehydration. Chronic use of aloe latex can cause long-term digestive problems and should be avoided.


2.Electrolyte Imbalance  

Because aloe vera latex can act as a potent laxative, excessive use can lead to the loss of important electrolytes like potassium. Low potassium levels, or hypokalemia, can result in muscle weakness, irregular heartbeats, and fatigue. It’s crucial to use aloe vera products that are labeled “latex-free” if you intend to consume them.


3.Blood Sugar Issues
